Finding someone to sing

Yun Xiaoran had recently become hooked on morning exercise. He usually ran two kilometers out from the Luxury Residential Complex, and by the time he returned, Shen Jin was normally awake.

"Here's your congee, fried dough sticks, and soy milk." As always, Yun Xiaoran set the breakfast he had prepared in front of Shen Jin.

Shen Jin had already shed her sleepy morning look. Since she was at home, she had dressed casually in a sweatshirt and denim shorts that were completely hidden beneath it. Her bare thighs were on full display before Yun Xiaoran, looking as flawless as marble, yet smooth and soft.

Shen Jin felt more comfortable at home with each passing day. With nothing to do, she opened VA Site and idly browsed Lone Cloud's songs and their comment sections. Among the top comments under both videos, she spotted the same person. Lone Cloud had even replied to her, and their exchanges seemed quite friendly.

Audrey Cat: "Lone Cloud, your song is so good! (bouquet)"

Lone Cloud: "Thanks for your support. Feel free to use it for your dances. (smile)"

Shen Jin stared at the message, then clicked on her profile picture and discovered that she was a creator who posted suggestive dance videos. Her latest two popular videos both used Lone Cloud's music. The suggested searches above even included, "Are Lone Cloud and Audrey Cat a couple?"

Looking at that suggested search, Shen Jin couldn't help laughing. She glanced at Yun Xiaoran across from her, who was still silently looking at his phone.

"Do you know Lone Cloud?" In a rare good mood, Shen Jin waved her phone at Yun Xiaoran. "Have you watched his videos on VA Site? I discovered his secret."

Yun Xiaoran froze, then asked nervously, "What secret did you discover?" What secret could Lone Cloud have? Has she figured out that I'm Lone Cloud? His eyelid twitched at Shen Jin's words.

"He might be playing up a romance with Audrey Cat for publicity!"

Shen Jin nodded, utterly convinced. Back when she had created her VA Site account, she had often seen creators commenting on each other's posts and stirring up hot topics to draw traffic.

Yun Xiaoran's expression became complicated. He hesitated, suppressing a smile, then feigned confusion. "Who do you think is pursuing whom?"

"That Cat is pursuing Lone Cloud, because I checked Audrey Cat's comment section, and Lone Cloud hasn't commented there!" As Shen Jin spoke, she fumed inwardly. Lone Cloud wouldn't reply to China Star Entertainment's messages, yet he had taken an interest in this Cat.

While Shen Jin was talking, Fu Bao rubbed against Yun Xiaoran's thigh.

"Do you think she'll succeed?" Shen Jin's analysis had piqued Yun Xiaoran's interest. Listening to her opinions of him without her knowing was actually pretty amusing.

"She will. Don't all you men like women with big breasts and curvy bottoms? Otherwise, she wouldn't have so many followers." As she said this, Shen Jin gave Yun Xiaoran a hostile look, her tone tinged with jealousy.

"I only found out there was someone like her in Lone Cloud's comments while browsing his posts." Sensing that Shen Jin's mood was off, Yun Xiaoran hurried to distance himself from the matter, lowering his head to eat his congee.

At his words, Shen Jin's expression softened. Her earlier prickliness faded, and she idly scrolled through videos on VA Site.

Yun Xiaoran smiled bitterly to himself. Who would have thought his own wife would start shipping him with someone else? Still, he had only ever replied to Audrey Cat in his own comment section. It was just the usual exchange of promotional pleasantries.

It seemed he would have to reveal less information from now on. If she figured it out one day, it wouldn't be worth the trouble.

"I'll go wash the dishes, then..." Yun Xiaoran stood up rather awkwardly, gathered the dishes and utensils, and tied on an apron.

Yun Xiaoran stood tall, his eyes bright. Wearing an apron didn't diminish his appeal at all; instead, it made him look even more like an ideal husband, especially when viewed from the side as he washed the dishes.

Watching him from the sofa, Shen Jin nodded in satisfaction while stroking Fu Bao, whose eyes were narrowed and who was almost dozing off.

"Aren't you going to work?" Seeming to remember something, Yun Xiaoran looked up at Shen Jin and asked in confusion. His icy little wife would normally have left long ago by now. What was different today?

"Oh, I work at China Star Entertainment. Since the big star Shen Muge won't be performing live on I Am a Singer until the day after tomorrow, I've got a rare couple of days off."

Shen Jin gave a bored explanation, then raised her eyes to Yun Xiaoran and tilted her head in puzzlement. "Why? Am I getting in your way by staying home?"

"No." Yun Xiaoran lowered his head, thoroughly embarrassed after asking that question. Now it looked as though he was trying to drive her out.

After breakfast, Yun Xiaoran returned to his room, eager to turn on his computer and ask Audrey Cat who was deliberately stirring up this rumor. Even his aloof, icy wife knew about it now.

"What's going on? What's with the trending search on VA Site?"

Seeing Audrey Cat online, Yun Xiaoran let out a small breath and quickly demanded an explanation.

"He replied?" Zhao Ruoxi had just opened VA Site to browse for inspiration and music for her dances when she received Lone Cloud's private message.

To create this rumor, she had spent the past two days dropping hints to her fans, all to get Lone Cloud to reply to her. First, she had left two messages in his comment section for him to answer, then she had used his music in her latest videos.

Finally, she only had to act a little coy during her livestream and leave the rest to her viewers' imaginations.

"Say, could you write a song for me?" Zhao Ruoxi typed nervously. After hitting send, she closed her chat with Lone Cloud, then opened it again.

"Write a song? Something catchy?" Yun Xiaoran readily accepted the request. Aside from Zhou Zeyu, Audrey Cat could be considered his second online friend.

"Yes, yes, exactly. A catchy song." Seeing that Yun Xiaoran hadn't refused, Zhao Ruoxi agreed first without worrying about whether the song would suit her.

"You're so nice."

"Rhyming lyrics with a classical feel might be difficult, but catchy songs like that are very simple. They also have a strong beat, which makes them ideal for dancing." Yun Xiaoran explained earnestly to Audrey Cat.

"Will it have lyrics?"

"Of course."

"But who are you going to get to sing it?" Reading that line on his computer screen, Yun Xiaoran slapped his forehead. He had forgotten.

At this point, Yun Xiaoran didn't have a single female friend to speak of. The lyrics and score would be easy enough to produce, but finding someone to sing them would be difficult.

"Haha, Lone Cloud, are you single?" Zhao Ruoxi ruthlessly slapped the "single" label on Yun Xiaoran.

"Of course. As for getting this song sung, leave it to me. It'll be done by tomorrow at the latest." Helpless, Yun Xiaoran could only search his mind for someone who understood music and was relatively close to him.
