By then, Li Qingxi had talked for ages without managing to get anything out.
It seemed as though she had run out of things to say and was forcing herself to find another topic.
What haven't I talked about yet?
Li Qingxi racked her brain.
She put almost every ounce of brainpower into thinking at top speed. Yun Xiaoran... Yun Xiaoran. That's right! Lone Cloud!
Then, pleased with herself for finding a new topic, Li Qingxi spoke to Yun Xiaoran, though her tone remained plaintive. "You're Lone Cloud. You've become Lone Cloud now, a huge internet celebrity who's out of my league."
"Oh, come on. What does that have to do with anything?"
Uncomfortable with this sort of mutual flattery, Yun Xiaoran merely gave a light cough. Clearly, he didn't want to continue with that topic.
But his fears seemed determined to come true. The less Yun Xiaoran wanted to discuss it, the more enthusiastic Li Qingxi became.
"What new songs are you planning to release?"
"Well, I definitely can't reveal those plans. My fans are still waiting, after all. I can't leak them to you."
Yun Xiaoran feigned a casual tone, but in truth, those words only put more distance between him and Li Qingxi.
Slightly disappointed, Li Qingxi continued:
"Then... as Lone Cloud... do you have female fans chasing after you every day?"
That was what Li Qingxi asked.
Yun Xiaoran fell silent for a moment.
"Probably not, so far."
A burst of laughter came from Li Qingxi on the other end, as though she was laughing at how Yun Xiaoran was still so clueless about romance, yet also asking whether he had been doing well since leaving her.
Of course, some people did call their exes, but those calls generally consisted of asking, "Are you doing well?"
