Annie asked with her arms folded across her chest.
But Xiate shot back at her.
"This is perfectly normal for Xiate, and for Big Brother too."
She just said something pretty outrageous, didn't she? Annie couldn't help thinking as she looked at the two before her.
"Well, anyway, we've got another problem now. By the way, which squad is Christa in?"
"Christa? She and Armin are both in Nanaba's squad."
Xiate thought for a moment before answering.
"Now that's a problem. Our squad and theirs both have a very important mission right now. Forget it, I'll go talk to Nanaba. Ugh, what a hassle."
Bai Yu stroked Xiate's head, making her lower it slightly as a blush spread across her face.
"I'll go find Christa first. She's in more trouble than I am right now, anyway."
Knock, knock, knock...
A knock sounded at the door. It was about time for the midday break.
A blond head with blue eyes poked out from behind the door, looking rather puzzled at the sight of Bai Yu standing outside.
"B-Bai Yu? Is something wrong?"
Looking at the seemingly meek girl before him, Bai Yu had an idea and suddenly turned serious.
"Ahem. Soldier Christa, you're in serious trouble. Please come with me, or else."
As he spoke, he drew a hand across his throat, looking as though he would kill her to keep her quiet if she didn't obey. Christa shrank back a little in fear.
"Um... c-could you tell me what's wrong first?"
She spoke cautiously, looking very frightened.
Bai Yu gave her a sidelong glance.
"You'll find out when we get there. Now, please come with me. You have the right to remain silent, but anything you say can be used as evidence against you in court."
