Back when Chinatsu had first considered which summoning creatures to choose, she had said she wanted nothing to do with toads. Even now that she had become the ultimate life-form, her "fear" of toads had not diminished in the slightest.
Why? Did that make no sense? What was so unreasonable about it? Humans were countless times stronger than cockroaches, but if one suddenly appeared right beside them, most people would still jump out of their skin.
Although her memories from before her reincarnation had grown quite hazy by now, there was one incident Chinatsu still remembered vividly.
Once, while she had been playing a game on the computer in her room, her hand resting on the mouse, she had suddenly felt something strange on her hand. She had lowered her head for a closer look, and that pitch-black abomination had entered her field of vision.
She had not immediately screamed "A cockroach!!!" or anything like that. Instead, she had made no sound at all, because extreme terror could leave a person speechless.
Chinatsu had launched herself straight out of her computer chair, flailing her arm as she leaped toward the large bed beside her. The most ridiculous part was that, although she slept alone, it was actually a double bed-and she had nearly overshot it.
After landing on the bed, her heart had pounded wildly as she stared fixedly at the computer desk. Although she could no longer pinpoint the cockroach's location, in that moment, Chinatsu had understood one thing.
This room belonged to the cockroach now!
In just a few seconds, Chinatsu relived that entire traumatic memory, her pupils trembling slightly.
Croaking echoed all around her. Fortunately, toads were much easier to stomach than cockroaches. As the light of the summoning array faded, Chinatsu ultimately could not escape
