She had only just gotten away from Shimura Danzō, and now she had run into him again?
Chinatsu couldn't help clicking her tongue. She knew the chances of running into Shimura Danzō in the Naruto Building were high, but that didn't make it any less annoying.
Chinatsu took a deep breath and immediately switched modes. After all, as far as Shimura Danzō was concerned, she was still brainwashed by Kotoamatsukami.
Putting on a ladylike air, Chinatsu walked up to Shimura Danzō with utmost respect.
"Lord Shimura."
"Did you just finish meeting with that Sarutobi fellow? Reporting your results? Remember, just stay out of trouble for now. All you need to do is grow stronger. You're of no other use yet."
"Understood."
Chinatsu nodded woodenly. Shimura Danzō nodded in satisfaction as well, then stepped past her.
Once Shimura Danzō was behind her, Chinatsu discreetly raised a certain internationally friendly finger...
Still, Shimura Danzō had a point about one thing: she really did need to "grow stronger."
She had originally joined the Anbu so she could use her Sharingan to copy other people's Ninjutsu during missions, but after two missions, Chinatsu hadn't made much progress.
During the incident where Hinata was carried off, Chinatsu had copied Kumogakure's method of strengthening the body with Lightning Release, but it was still fairly basic.
This latest trip had yielded even less. If she had to name something, there were only the few Wind Release jutsu she had copied while fighting Shimura Danzō.
[Wind Release: Vacuum Wave]
[Wind Release: Vacuum Blade]
But both were only B-rank Ninjutsu. Even without copying them, learning them properly wouldn't have been difficult.
Chinatsu let out a heavy, helpless sigh. After thinking it over for a while, she finally decided to delve deeper into the trump cards she already had.
For her Sharingan, she needed to find a way to awaken its Mangekyō form.
For Wood Release, she needed to increase the variety and power of her techniques.
With this "Sharingan + Wood Release" setup, Chinatsu kept feeling like she was some version of Madara Uchiha...
Chinatsu scratched her hair, looking troubled. Just a few meters after she left the Naruto Building, a man spotted her troubled expression. After considerable hesitation, he finally called out to her.
"What are you thinking about? You look like you're about to eat someone."
"Hmm?"
Chinatsu turned toward the voice with a puzzled look and saw Kakashi standing there without his mask.
That made sense. The mask was for Anbu duty, and he couldn't possibly have missions around the clock.
Right... that's right!
"Kakashi, teach me some Ninjutsu!"
Chinatsu appeared in front of Kakashi with a Body Flicker Technique. If she had looked ready to eat someone before, now she had specifically picked Kakashi as her target.
Kakashi had been using the Sharingan far longer than Chinatsu, a transmigrator. Who knew how many Ninjutsu he had copied during his time in the Anbu? Besides, he had already mastered Chidori. He was undoubtedly qualified to teach her!
Even without her Sharingan activated, Chinatsu's eyes seemed to sparkle with Pika Pika light. Kakashi's face twitched slightly.
He hated hassle and desperately wanted to refuse.
But looking at Chinatsu's strangely mesmerizing Pika Pika eyes, Kakashi somehow couldn't bring himself to say no.
"All... all right. I'm free anyway. When?"
"Now! Right now! Immediately!!!"
"..."
Chinatsu was positively ravenous!
They arrived at an open space in Konoha. After some internal struggle, Kakashi decided to stop overthinking it.
"I'm not sure what Ninjutsu you know, so I'll start with the basics."
Kakashi sighed, then put the hand speed honed by twenty years of being single to use. He formed several hand seals in the blink of an eye, quickly crouched, and slapped his palm against the ground.
"Earth Release: Earth-Style Wall!"
Boom!!!
An earthen wall rose from the ground. This was a common B-rank defensive Earth Release Ninjutsu, but Kakashi's wall was a little different from other people's: it had a dog's head carved into it.
Chinatsu really wanted to comment on that dog's head, but she held back. Copying everything she could was her top priority.
Chinatsu quickly formed hand seals and slapped one hand against the ground as well. A plain, unadorned earthen wall rose in response.
Kakashi nodded, then demonstrated a variety of ordinary B-rank Ninjutsu. These were all techniques that could be taught openly, and anyone who wanted to learn them could study them from scrolls. Still, having someone demonstrate them and then copying them with the Sharingan was far faster.
Chinatsu's Sharingan rapidly copied the techniques. Before she even began to tire, Kakashi was already panting and looking worn out.
Chinatsu wasn't surprised. Kakashi was famously low on chakra reserves.
There were various reasons for it, but Chinatsu believed the main one was that Kakashi couldn't deactivate his Sharingan.
An ordinary Uchiha clan member could switch their Sharingan on and off. Kakashi had inherited a single Sharingan from his deceased friend, and without the support of the bloodline, he couldn't deactivate it. Keeping it active all the time meant he was constantly consuming chakra.
"I don't have much chakra left. I can only use one more slightly advanced Ninjutsu. Is there anything in particular you want to learn?" Kakashi asked Chinatsu, panting.
Lightning Release: Chidori!!!
Of course, she couldn't say it that bluntly. That would be far too suspicious.
Chinatsu deliberately put on a hesitant expression. "Um, I'd like to learn something with a little more power. You probably know I went to Kumogakure this time. Let me tell you something: I actually nearly died there. It's too dangerous over there. I don't know any powerful Ninjutsu, so I couldn't get through those body-strengthening techniques the Kumogakure ninja used..."
As far as Chinatsu was concerned, that wasn't entirely a lie. She really would have nearly died there if her acting hadn't been good enough...
Kakashi fell into thought as he listened. While he pondered, Chinatsu frantically chanted inwardly, Chidori! Chidori! Chidori!
"All right, I'll teach you this one. It happens to be a Ninjutsu I copied from Kumogakure, too. I think it has a lot of potential. Maybe you'll find some creative ways to use it."
Kakashi's gaze sharpened. Drawing on the last of his chakra, he brought his hands together and formed hand seals.
"Lightning Release: Black Lightning: Black Panther!"
Black lightning surged from Kakashi's body and coalesced into a black panther that shot into the distance. Wherever the panther passed, black lightning destroyed everything.
It was impressive... but...
"My Chi... Chidori?"
Chinatsu lowered her head and let out a long, helpless sigh. Sure enough, people didn't casually hand over their signature techniques. She still hadn't built up enough affection with him.
Chinatsu's plan to copy Chidori had officially failed.
Chinatsu: "But! I won't give up!!!"
