This was a secret technique of Konoha's Nara Clan. Chinatsu did not know it herself; she could use it only because of her left eye's Replication ability.
One day, Chinatsu had sneaked into the Ninja Academy and used Replication on Shikamaru of the Nara Clan from a distance while Naruto and the others were sparring.
