"Naruto, I'll help you!"
Karin ran over and helped Naruto carry some of the scrolls, quietly grumbling about Orochimaru.
"What an irresponsible teacher."
Naruto smiled faintly at Karin's complaint but said nothing.
Only after Yakushi Nonō closed the door did she notice the little tail following behind Naruto.
"This snake is?"
"A snake that guards the summoning scrolls. Orochimaru summoned it."
Naruto set down the scrolls and straightened her wrinkled clothes before beckoning to the snake. "Come here."
The snake slithered up Naruto's slender leg and onto her arm. The cold, smooth sensation made her shudder. Her azure eyes held a trace of excitement and curiosity as she cautiously reached out to stroke the snake's cold, glossy little head.
Watching the snake flick its tongue again and again, Naruto thought the pitch-black snake looked rather cute.
"I want to sign a summoning contract."
Naruto looked into the snake's eyes. She knew it could understand her, but she had not expected it to transform directly into a huge scroll, leaving her somewhat dumbfounded.
Naruto opened the scroll and saw Orochimaru's name on it, but not the name of Mitaraishi Anko, who had once been Orochimaru's student.
Could it be that Anko had signed a different contract scroll?
After hesitating for a moment, Naruto bit her finger, wrote her name on the contract scroll, and pressed down her handprint.
Bang!
After Naruto pressed her handprint, the scroll turned into smoke and vanished.
Persuading Manda (Physically) (1/2)
Unable to wait any longer to try the Summoning Jutsu, Naruto headed to the lower level of the base.
When the three learned that Naruto wanted to try the Summoning Jutsu, they naturally wanted to see what kind of Summoning Beast she would call forth the first time she used it, so they followed her there.
