"Boom!"

"Is this guy... really human?" Horror flashed in Kurona Yasuhisa's eyes. Forget humans-even a ghoul couldn't destroy an iron door this thick with nothing but an arm.

Louis's full-force punch shook the entire room, leaving a deep dent in the seemingly impregnable iron door.

"Ordinary steel?" Louis looked at his arm, buried deep in the dent in the steel door. Feeling its hardness, he realized just how badly they had underestimated him.

If the room had been made of quinque steel, he really would have struggled to break out right away. But ordinary steel was little more than extra-tough taffy to him.

Perhaps Kanou's people had built a trap like this precisely because they lacked information about him.

At that thought, Louis pulled his arm free and instantly formed an extra-long Ice Blade, plunging it into the door as easily as stabbing tofu.

Three cuts were all he needed to carve an exit.

"Not a chance!" Two scarlet rinkaku shot out from behind Kurona Yasuhisa. She understood that as long as she held the man in front of her here until the neurotoxin took effect, their mission would be complete.

But Ice Chains also formed out of thin air around Louis and shot forward, twisting and tangling with the scarlet rinkaku in midair. Perhaps rattled by an attack she had never encountered before, she failed to break through despite several slashes and thrusts.

After all his recent training, these Ice Chains formed from cold air had nearly the flexibility and strength of kagune at close range. Even if they couldn't completely block Kurona Yasuhisa's attacks, holding her off for a few seconds was no problem.

"Nashiro!"

At Kurona Yasuhisa's shout, a white figure charged out with another pair of identical rinkaku, attacking Louis from a different direction.

"Banjō..." Louis
