Viper bent at the waist like a snake, narrowly dodging the punch. Her brows knitted as she watched the icy fist sweep past her with a rush of wind. He could still muster that much force after her successful ambush-he clearly was no weakling.

"Talent really does keep cropping up..."

Louis did not give up the pursuit after his first strike missed. He straightened his fingers, pressed them together, and twisted his body, chopping his hand toward Viper's neck.

Judging by the force of Viper's kagune during her ambush, Louis would have been dead or crippled without his crystallized arm. He had no reason to hold back now. Every strike aimed to kill.

But Viper was clearly no pushover either. Her waist was even more flexible than Louis's, bending to an unbelievable angle as she deftly evaded his attack again.

"Hmph..." Viper chuckled, and the kagune behind her swept in, lashing at him like a steel bar.

Louis repeated his earlier move. With a bang, he blocked it with his crystallized right arm, retreating while maintaining his guard.

Before he could make another move, Banjo Kazuichi was knocked flying over to him as well. The kagune had left bloody welts around his arms, but he had suffered no serious injuries.

"That hurt like hell..." Banjo Kazuichi protected the bundle in his arms and watched Viper warily from a distance. Their brief exchange had already told him he was no match for her, but he had not simply given up resisting.

Louis looked at Viper, who had stopped attacking, and hesitated for a moment before deciding not to continue either.

He already had abrasions in several places. If he had not sealed the wounds with Crystallization in time, his human identity would probably have been exposed, putting him in grave danger
