The helicopter's rotor thundered overhead. Huang Zhetian sat in the back seat, looking through the window at the massive construction machinery working along the coastline.
Huang Zhetian had been brought to NERV's North American branch for simulation testing. Before his arrival, his records had been uploaded to NERV's database. From that moment on, he officially took the place of this world's original Huang Zhetian.
He had become a real person in every sense.
Upon entering the unfinished NERV branch in Nevada, several staff members came forward and led Huang Zhetian to the designated room.
After arriving in Rebuild of Evangelion, Huang Zhetian felt that the quality of the art around him had gone up several notches. All kinds of finely crafted high-tech instruments surrounded him, sleek yet substantial.
Staff member A said, "Pilot Huang Zhetian, please spread your arms so we can fit you with the testing equipment."
Huang Zhetian spread his arms into a cross. Several staff members fitted his limbs and joints with something resembling a mechanical exoskeleton, then plugged in the simulated neural-conduit transmission equipment.
Before long, only Huang Zhetian's eyes remained exposed. Machinery and neural conduits covered the rest of his body.
Several staff members worked together to lift Huang Zhetian into the Simulation Capsule. Once he was inside, they hooked the capsule's connection system to the equipment on his body and shut the hatch.
As the hatch closed, the dark Simulation Capsule instantly lit up with various virtual screens, data bars, and scanning displays showing first-person and third-person 3D views.
The mechanical exoskeleton and neural conduits fitted to his body slowly began glowing blue as well.
"Pilot Huang Zhetian, we'll now test your synchronization rate with the simulated unit. Learn the combat techniques and eliminate the generated enemies."
Huang Zhetian said, "Understood."
