The three returned to the Wunder Warship to report their results. Kaji told them he planned to make the Wunder Warship WILLE's headquarters.
Without Unit-01 serving as its main control system, the Wunder Warship had no power supply. They ultimately decided to install an external propulsion system.
Until they recovered Unit-01, the Wunder Warship would travel across the sea's surface.
Mari took off her glasses and wiped them. After putting them back on, she told Kaji, "I'll pilot Unit-08. You know I'm pretty familiar with things over there. Who knows? Maybe it was made just for me."
Kaji spread his hands indifferently and agreed. "Sure. Bring back Unit-08's data when the time comes. We'll upgrade and modify it here, and add its data to our database while we're at it."
There was no helping it. WILLE's database was still incomplete. Before they could collect much of the data from NERV Headquarters, Gendo Ikari had remotely destroyed it from Bethany Base.
They could only collect data from NERV branches around the world, one by one, to fill in the gaps.
Even now, after Third Impact, the number of survivors remained low-fewer than a thousand.
That posed a major obstacle to future infrastructure projects. Some heavy industrial construction required not just machinery, but considerable manpower as well.
Huang Zhetian pointed at the map on the table. "We'll capture the Nevada branch in the United States, then launch a rocket from there to send an EVA up and recover Unit-01. After that, we'll restore the Europe Branch [Paris, France] and replenish our equipment there."
Kaji nodded in agreement and added another part to the plan. "While we're carrying out this plan, WILLE also needs to regain the operational capabilities we had at NERV Headquarters."
