Glug... glug, glug... Cough!!!
Rei Ayanami's eyes flew open. She gulped down air; she had just heard someone calling her.
"Huff... ha... ha..." Naked, Rei Ayanami rose from the vessel filled with a special medicinal solution.
She looked around, taking in her surroundings.
Instruments filled the room, with some equipment for preparing Chinese herbal medicine at the far end.
Nearby, a pot of herbal medicine simmered over a flame, bubbling and steaming.
The room was dim, but quite spacious.
Rei Ayanami's brilliant red eyes surveyed the room. No one seemed to be there.
Without the slightest embarrassment, she walked around naked.
She discovered that the door was shut, but showed no reaction.
Quietly, Rei Ayanami found a chair and sat there in a daze, gazing at the dim ceiling.
Who knew what she was thinking? Even I, the author, had no idea what was going through Rei Ayanami's mind.
As Rei Ayanami continued to stare blankly, the door opened.

"You're finally awake. Good. Neither of us has much time left. But I'll definitely be leaving before you. Let's get down to business." Huang Zhetian took off his glasses, drew a deep breath, and went over to a box. He pulled out a long towel and tossed it over Rei Ayanami's naked body.
Rei Ayanami said nothing, and Huang Zhetian didn't care whether she had anything to say to him.
Talking to Rei Ayanami was no better than talking to himself. Besides, Huang Zhetian barely knew her; their acquaintance amounted to one meal together.
