Special reminder: since the sections about Kozo Fuyutsuki, Gendo Rokubungi, and Yui Ikari are very long, and their stories need to be told in detail, I'll cover their past separately later (to properly explain the prequel). For now, we'll get straight back on track with Ryoji Kaji's story and the conversation with SEELE. The protagonist has also begun his mission to save people, marking the start of some sweeping changes to the plot. (There will be a dedicated installment introducing the organizations in Neon Genesis Evangelion, the military forces of various countries, the original Huang Zhetian's story, and the origins of the cloned Huang Zhetian.)
In the darkness, thirteen enormous dark-red monoliths floated in midair, illuminated by lights from below. Each bore an Arabic numeral. They formed a circle, interrogating the guest they had "invited"-Kozo Fuyutsuki.
Fuyutsuki sat in a chair illuminated by a light in the floor. This time, his hands were not behind his back by choice; they had been bound together behind the chair.
Fuyutsuki raised his head and looked at the thirteen SELLE members revolving above him. Chairman Ghil's face appeared on the monolith marked 01. He knew both the Committee and SEELE had taken action.
Once the problem with Unit-01's core was discovered, the previous issues surrounding Gendo Ikari were dragged back into the open. This had been going on for far longer than a day or two.
Other considerations had simply kept them from restricting Gendo Ikari.
Everyone had turned a blind eye to Gendo Ikari's little maneuvers before, but this latest problem had caught them completely off guard.
The Unit-01 incident did not match the contents of the Dead Sea Scrolls at all. The core engine should not have appeared, and certainly not this early.
That meant they were creating a god-a god
