The Gaoying Tournament was part of the traditional Douluo Continent storyline. Leaving it out would have left a piece missing.

I also knew that, after reading so many of the high-level battles I wrote, everyone might find this sort of thing a little dull.

So, as those who followed the updates these past few days could see, I cut back considerably on descriptions of skills and moves during this tournament.

The focus was mainly on tactics.

Drawing on basketball, I wrote in run-and-gun tactics and the High-Press Tactic.

I moved through the matches fairly quickly. The only one I spent more time on was the second match, against the Ruian team, mainly to give the reserve team members some attention.

That also helped bring out the Gaoying Tournament's style and establish its overall level.

Also, I'm from Ruian. Haha, didn't see that coming, did you?

The "hometown" academy deserved a little more time to shine.

"Heavenly Rui, Earthly An" really was a slogan. It was right there on the sign at our highway exit.

Also, everyone probably knew by now that whenever I wrote about something, I never just stuck dutifully to that one thing.

When I wrote about going to Vast Sea City to obtain Soul Rings, a Minor Beast Tide broke out.

When I wrote about Chen Xiaojun heading into the mountains, that drew out a whole chain of events.

When I wrote plotlines, I generally linked them laterally to other happenings in the world at that time.

Writing the Gaoying Tournament wasn't a simple, straightforward affair either. In fact, I had already worked quite a few other developments into it.

I hope you'll all look forward to what's coming!
