The blood pearl exploded around his charred, festering remains. Defying the purifying power of the World-Cleansing Flame, it forcibly warped space and became a streak of dark crimson light wrapped around his shattered body, fleeing toward the darker, more unfathomable earth veins deeper underground.
"You're not going anywhere!" Shi Yuanyuan struggled to raise his broken arm. The power of Xuanwu Calms the Sea spread weakly outward, attempting to slow him even a little. But the blood escape carried Azmonk's final burning curse, its speed and uncanny nature far beyond imagination. The sea-calming power only dimmed its radiance by an insignificant fraction.
Sword Lord Azure Bamboo forced himself to draw another breath and hastily fired a strand of Sword Qi, but it only sliced off a small piece of rotten flesh breaking away from the tail of the bloody light.
