In an open clearing, NERV's research shelter had already been set up.

Misato and Kaji watched the sky from a distance.
Misato sounded a little regretful. "That energy source or whatever... it's probably gone..."
"I heard they're bringing several huge chunks of metal over in a bit. That giant robot that stole the energy."
