Meanwhile, in the Eagle Nation on the other side of the earth, it was daytime.
A scientist wearing a white lab coat and glasses strode confidently into the heavily guarded Secret Research Institute.
He had fluffy, tousled bangs and looked every bit the scientist.
He took the elevator underground, approached the other scientists, and introduced himself with a smile:
"I'm Dr. Shinya Kaburagi, an expert in extraterrestrial languages. I've been sent here to communicate with this alien."
The institute's director checked his credentials. Finding that he was an Asian scientist with Eagle Nation citizenship and that everything was in order, he led him deeper into the institute.
On the way, the director briefed him. "Our preliminary interrogation got us nowhere. I've never seen anyone so tight-lipped. We'll have to leave the rest to your expertise."
There were many other scientists inside the institute, most of whom had come because humanity had captured a living alien for the first time.
As they watched Kaburagi walk past, some looked envious, while others were disdainful.
The first scientist said contemptuously, "Why is he Asian? I wonder if he's from the Dragon Country or Japan."
The second scientist watched Kaburagi with some resentment.
"These Asians make up a growing share of the Eagle Nation's research sector. They've already squeezed us out of quite a few positions."
The third scientist was rather angry:
"The point is, why does he get the privilege of communicating with the alien alone, while geniuses like us can only observe, analyze, and take notes?!"
"Why should he get to do this all by himself?!"
The fourth scientist strongly disagreed and argued, "That's where you're wrong. The more brilliant minds we have, the better it is for us and humanity. There's no need to fight over this."
