The campaign against the Hornsent extended to every front, targeting not only their settlements but their other strongholds as well. The Darklight Catacombs were among them.
This was one of the Hornsent's burial grounds, a place riddled with mechanisms and shrouded in darkness. Outsiders had to grope through the dark to find the first mechanism and light a lamp, then find a second mechanism amid the pursuit and ambushes of the big-mouthed Imps to light another lamp. Only after repeating this process and lighting every lamp could they find the true path.
The problem was that the Five-Party Alliance refused to play by the rules.
