Morax knitted his brows and immediately flew toward Liyue to lend aid.
At that moment, dozens of sharp, dark-purple spikes shot out of the sea and thrust straight at Morax.
Morax flew through the air at high speed, but those things pursued him as though equipped with GPS navigation. He could not shake them off.
He had no choice but to counterattack immediately, yet four spikes still struck him. Fortunately, they only left two cracks in his shield.
An enormous dark shape swam beneath the azure sea.
BOOM!!!!!
In an instant, a gigantic monster with razor-sharp fangs burst out of the sea, throwing up an enormous spray as it lunged to swallow Morax.
Long Spear in hand, Morax was about to hurl it down when those dark-purple spikes attacked again from every direction. He could only stop and retreat at once.
The shield protecting Liyue was under constant attack from the Demon Gods. Morax burned with anxiety, but he could not reach it. Fighting more than a dozen Demon Gods was already an immense strain. He had no way to break free and was completely pinned down here.
During the Archon War, every Demon God had been an exceptionally proud being, so most had come to challenge him one-on-one.
Only once had Demon Gods cooperated to attack Liyue. Those seven Demon Gods had joined forces and nearly destroyed Liyue and the Guili Plains.
Now, however, the Demon Gods who had broken through their seals had also lost their pride and reason, becoming nothing more than puppets that knew only destruction.
Against the combined attacks of more than a dozen Demon Gods, even Morax could do little despite his intentions. Mounting an effective counterattack was difficult.
