However, based on the locations of the two Ancestor Trees in the north and south, the tribes were broadly divided into northern and southern factions.
The Maple Tribe and the Bo Tribe belonged to the Southern Faction.
Within this faction, there were many tribal alliances. The alliance led by the Maple Tribe was one of the larger ones.
Every year, each tribe had to send a representative on a pilgrimage to the Ancestor Tree, with the leader of their tribal alliance organizing the pilgrimage group.
The journey from the Maple Tribe to the Southern Ancestor Tree took two months and passed through over a thousand tribes.
The tribes here were densely packed, with practically every giant tree filled with people.
The Ancestor Tree in the southern hemisphere stood at around thirty degrees south latitude, while its counterpart, the Northern Ancestor Tree, stood at thirty degrees north.
The Maple Tribe was relatively fortunate. It was close to the Ancestor Tree, so the journey took only two months.
For tribes farther away, the journey alone could take several years.
Still, that was not much of a problem. The tribes of Sand Sea Planet were all selfless and would unconditionally provide food, drink, and lodging to these pilgrimage groups traveling such long distances.
Chu Mu and Tingyun received plenty of special treatment along the way.
A week after setting out, their group had already grown to several thousand people.
The closer they came to the Ancestor Tree, the more pilgrimage groups they encountered. Since everyone shared the same destination, they simply traveled together.
To Chu Mu's disappointment, however, they had yet to encounter Kafka or the others.
