After work, Lina went to the Funeral Association to bring her father, Charles, a meal and happened to run into Kafka and the others.
Lina hurriedly passed on the information Herta had entrusted to her. Kafka, in turn, asked Lina to take a message back to Herta-
First, don't panic. We're working on a way to rescue you, but the situation is tricky, so help might not arrive that quickly.
Second, it's getting cold now. Don't steal Chu Mu's blanket!
Make sure to emphasize the second point!
Lina was utterly baffled. Miss Herta was such a nice person. Why would she steal someone else's blanket?
Once both sides had exchanged their information, Lina hurried back to the dormitory.
The next morning arrived.
Sure enough, Herta had another nightmare!
That strange Chu Mu in her dream had actually made himself right at home on the bed that night.
Herta was so furious that she could barely think. She swore at him and demanded to know what he had done to her after sneaking into bed the night before.
The strange fellow shamelessly claimed that he had done nothing. Sleeping on the sofa was simply too cold for him to bear.
Then he actually turned the accusation back on her, saying Herta had hogged his blanket the night before!
To ensure he could get a good night's sleep, he forcibly tied Herta's arm to his own.
Herta: "???"
Was everything in her dreams the opposite of reality?
She lay down, forcing herself to endure the discomfort, and fell sound asleep within the dream.
When she woke again, her arm was terribly sore.
She opened her eyes groggily, unable to tell for a moment whether this was a dream or reality.
A steady heartbeat sounded beside her ear.
Herta suddenly realized something.
