The Governor's Mansion.
Arlan and Asta stayed outside to wait, while Chu Mu took Kafka inside to see Luwan.
This was his second visit to Luwan's office, and the old man was already there waiting for him.
Just as he had waited in the office for Luwan last time.
"That merchant is fine. The moment you came in, I had someone release him." Luwan showed his sincerity and got straight to the point. "I think we should discuss working together-how to deal with those spaceship wrecks."
Chu Mu nodded and said:
"We need the wreckage to repair our spaceship. I'd like to know what you need it for, Governor."
"We have something that needs repairing too: our civilization." Luwan sighed. "Those wrecks have shown me an opportunity to revive our civilization. They are also our hope of ending the Betrayal Era."
"We only need to repair our ship's propulsion system. We can leave all the remaining wreckage to you and the civilization you protect," Chu Mu said evenly. "That's my proposal."
"I couldn't imagine a better proposal!" Luwan stood up in delight. "In return, I'll expand the salvage fleet we send out to sea. Everything we recover will be delivered to Mr. Sampo."
In just a few words, the old man and the boy had settled the details of their cooperation.
They even signed a contract.
This was already the third contract this week: one with Sampo, one with Asta, and now another with Luwan.
In a world filled with betrayal at every turn, Chu Mu had unexpectedly come away with three agreements.
After signing on Chu Mu's behalf, Kafka said wistfully:
"I feel like you could manage just fine without me here."
"Strictly speaking, any contract I sign is invalid because of my age." Chu Mu shook his head.
