The Flaming Sea, the Tacet Field.
This was the Glacio Rider's home turf.
A massive, cross-shaped Resonance Mark stood at the center of the Tacet Field.
The motorcycle beneath the Glacio Rider spewed flames as the rider raced recklessly about, crushing everything in the way.
Perhaps, one day in the future, some powerful Resonator would have come here.
But now, the two figures standing here were both Tacet Discords.
Ling An walked toward the Glacio Rider, step by step, Purple Flame blazing all over his body.
Purple Flame fell onto the ground, leaving fiercely burning footprints.
This was his first time facing a Tacet Discord of his own class, so he entered his strongest form right away, intending to end the fight quickly.
Fortunately, ordinary humans could not remain in the Flaming Sea for long, giving him plenty of room to unleash his power.
At that very moment, opposite him...
The Glacio Rider sensed danger and steered the motorcycle back and forth at breakneck speed.
The rider never opened their mouth, yet Ling An heard a voice-
"Never... stop..."
The Glacio Rider seemed to have reached the limit of their patience with Ling An's sudden intrusion.
The front of the motorcycle reared high, sweeping up blazing crimson flames as it charged at him.
It was as though fire itself was its fuel.
The raised wheel spun rapidly, smashing down toward Ling An's head.
The wheel drew closer and closer.
But just before it could touch him, it stopped dead.
Ling An extended an arm and held firm against the pressure.
His other hand remained behind his back.
The Glacio Rider roared, and the wheel shrieked as the rider pressed harder, determined to grind this uninvited intruder to pieces!
Yet instead of pushing down, the rider began rising, inch by inch.
With just one arm, Ling An forcibly lifted both rider and motorcycle.
Only then did he bring out his other hand, clench it into a fist, and smash it into the motorcycle.
An explosive crack rang out as a violent shock wave erupted.
The punch knocked the Glacio Rider back more than ten meters.
Ling An glanced sideways at the palm that had blocked the wheel. Crimson flames clung to it.
The crimson fire and Purple Flame tangled together in the small space of his palm, each devouring the other.
He shook his hand indifferently, extinguishing the crimson fire without a trace, and murmured:
"Warm-up's over."
That had been nothing more than a simple test.
He now had a rough grasp of the Glacio Rider's strength.
A Rumbling Tide-Class Tacet Discord, through and through.
Unfortunately...
Ling An reached into the empty air at his side, and Purple Flame rapidly condensed into a spear.
Even among Rumbling Tide-Class Tacet Discords, there were differences.
He held nothing back now. Stamping one foot heavily forward, he shot away in a streak of purple light.
His afterimage had yet to fade from where he stood when his spear tip clashed with the enemy.
Waves of force swept countless grains of Flamebloom pollen into the sky.
Amid the dreamy pink pollen, a brilliant Flamebloom was swept into the air.
It slowly drifted down.
At that moment, Ling An wielded his spear, raining down attacks.
The Glacio Rider wielded a long-handled blade, swinging it in broad, sweeping arcs.
"Ride... to the very end..."
Within the Tacet Field, the Glacio Rider surged forward again and again like an unceasing tide, each assault carrying crushing force.
The rider drove the motorcycle back and forth in repeated charges, but every blow was repelled by an even greater power.
Ling An stood his ground, steady as a rock.
No matter how great the waves, they would shatter against the reef.
Outside the Flaming Sea, Professor Woodrow and his assistant watched anxiously.
They could not see the battle and could only judge it by its sounds.
"The Glacio Rider has never been this angry before. It sounds like they're fighting," the assistant said, listening with mounting urgency.
"That cat really managed it..." Professor Woodrow could hardly believe it.
He looked beside him, then suddenly asked in confusion, "Where's that courier from Wuwu Logistics?"
"Mimika? She asked for a gas mask and left. I think she went to make a delivery."
"That reckless girl! The Flaming Sea is no place to take lightly!"
Within the Tacet Field, the battle grew ever fiercer.
The entire Tacet Field had now been divided in two.
On one side raged crimson fire; on the other burned Purple Flame that annihilated everything in silence.
Across the battlefield, Purple Flame spread everywhere, holding an overwhelming advantage.
The pressure Ling An-or rather, Crownless-exerted was simply too great.
The Glacio Rider could no longer maintain their mounted form. For the first time in years, their feet touched the ground.
Before Crownless, even the Glacio Rider could not remain above it all.
The rider's beastlike eyes fixed on the figure hovering in the sky.
Crownless!
A pair of dark purple wings spread wide. Spear in hand, Ling An looked down upon everything around him.
He floated in the air, a blazing sun behind him.
In an instant, he plunged from the sky, crashing toward the Glacio Rider.
Victory was already decided.
Just as he had said, even among Rumbling Tide-Class Tacet Discords, some were stronger than others.
From the very beginning of this battle, he had burned his power at full strength.
It was not merely to win, but also to test his own limits.
The Glacio Rider was already spent, barely holding on.
The rider barely managed to raise the long-handled blade to block the Purple Flame Spear, but could not withstand the crushing pressure that followed.
Ling An brought his foot down.
The Glacio Rider dropped to one knee.
He raised his foot and stamped down again, making the entire Tacet Field tremble.
Each stomp spread more cracks across the Glacio Rider's skin.
It was about time to finish this. Even he felt a trace of fatigue after fighting at full power.
Ling An thrust his spear forward, sweeping aside the rider's guard.
He turned gracefully and planted a foot against the Glacio Rider's chest.
Force erupted. The Glacio Rider slid helplessly backward, carving a long furrow through the ground of the Tacet Field.
It stretched all the way to the cross-shaped Resonance Mark.
Ling An raised his spear, directing all the Purple Flame toward the Resonance Mark.
Admittedly, unleashing his full power had drained him considerably.
But the outcome was now decided.
Ling An hurled the spear, putting everything into that throw, every movement embodying the beauty of power.
At the very instant the spear left his hand, the Flamebloom drifting through the air finally settled gently onto the ground.
The entire exchange had taken barely half a minute.
The spear streaked through the air like a beam of light, leaving a brilliant trail.
"It's over," Ling An sighed.
The next moment, everything changed.
The entire Flaming Sea shuddered once, as though drawing a breath.
Countless Flameblooms released their pollen. The pollen dancing through the sky rapidly condensed around the Glacio Rider.
The pollen gathered into a shield just as the spear arrived.
BOOM!!
The violent explosion blasted everything outward from its center. Even Ling An was forced two steps back by the shock, leaving the entire Tacet Field swept clean for a moment.
The shock wave reached beyond the Flaming Sea. Professor Woodrow and his assistant, who had been waiting there, could not dodge in time. They inhaled large quantities of Flamebloom pollen and collapsed, coughing painfully.
Within the Tacet Field, Ling An stared toward the cross-shaped Resonance Mark, his gaze flickering with uncertainty.
Thud!
Thud!
Thud!
Bracing against the long-handled blade, the Glacio Rider slowly stood.
"Forever... forever... onward!!!"
Countless grains of Flamebloom pollen condensed around the rider, forming an incredibly solid shield.
At that moment, the entire Flaming Sea was actually supplying the Glacio Rider with power, protecting them!
Ling An scanned the surroundings warily. Light shimmered ceaselessly across the shield.
It was the manifestation of every Flamebloom's power.
Unless he broke the shield, he could not harm the Glacio Rider in the slightest.
His eyes blazed with fury, and a furious rant welled up inside him, demanding release.
For Wuwob's fucking sake! Can't win, so you're turning on cheats?!
You cheating bastard, let's go again!
Spear in hand, Ling An charged recklessly toward the Glacio Rider, his roar shaking heaven and earth:
"You goddamn Glacio Rider! I'll love you to death with one thrust!"
