The Touch of the Old Days left Ling An behind and descended on Jinzhou, where its power caused people across the city to burst into bloody mist. Jinhsi faced the being as Chixia and Yangyang tried to evacuate survivors, but the city’s explosions continued.

The Touch of the Old Days defeated Ling An, took his half of the authority of war, and let the Lament descend as disasters spread across the world. As Ling An drifted toward death, Dreamless resisted the abyss and kept him from crossing its boundary.

Verina found the amnesiac Rover after a golden light fell into the valley and told her that a century had passed since the Lament destroyed much of Solaris. When Rover entered a Tacet Field and encountered Crownless, their shared memories returned, and she recognized him as Ling An.
