"Now it's fright time."

"Watch this!!!"

An enormous light burst from Xx_FRESHSANS_xX.

After a long while, the light dimmed, and the two could finally open their eyes to see [its] true form.

The ruler of this timeline, in [its] own identity.

The trendy prince of nightmares, the cool tyrant of despair.

Its true visage, its terrifying second phase...!

The two opened their eyes, only to find an ugly little bug in front of them.

"This is... this is... me."

Only silence remained in the air.

"Heh... heh... hehe... b-buddy?"

Murder raised the pendant high, his face expressionless.

"If... if you kill me, it, it'll kill you too."

"Over,"

"And over,"

"He always does."

"But, uh... I guess that doesn't really affect you, buddy?"

A smile surfaced on Murder's face.

"Murder, I've been with you for so long, and I've never seen you smile."

Killer leaned over in amazement.

Murder ignored Killer's wisecracking and reached out to touch the white, shattered soul.

How strange. The other versions of [it] all had black, upright souls.

Yet this one's was white and upside down.

It seemed this one's fusion had been quite a success.

Murder paid none of that any mind. With the pendant's power, he smashed this unruly soul to bits.

Then he absorbed the soul inside it into the little box pendant.

It was time to go back.

But,

Something,

Had changed.

Had changed.

Had changed.

Had changed.

Had changed.

Had changed.

Had changed.

Had changed.

After taking a roundabout route, the two finally returned to Snowdin.

"So... everything here is over."

Murder took out the little box pendant.

"Killer... I suddenly have a hunch."

"Hmm?"

"Do you think... we might have taken something that belonged to someone else?"

The two stood on top of a house and looked down.

There was a human with no face.

[It] showed kindness to every Sans and every Papyrus it met.

Look at its expression...

Oh, that really was a hard expression to read.

"...I think so too. It should be the protagonist of this story."

Killer took the box pendant from Murder's hand and aimed at the human below.

"In that case... let's leave the rest of the journey to the right person!"

Killer threw the box pendant.

"Human! Catch it!!"

Clack.

[It] caught the box pendant and looked up. The box pendant seemed stuck to [its] hand, completely motionless.

But what movement could anyone expect from a box pendant?

Murder spread his hands.

"We dealt with three enemies before it got here. Let's leave the rest of its journey to it."

Killer nodded furiously.

"Right, right, right! Let's hurry and help the residents of the next timeline!!!"

At the mention of leaving, Killer became especially excited. Apparently, she had wanted to get out of there for ages, but with their journey of redemption already underway, she couldn't very well leave Murder to carry on alone.

Now that they had found someone to take over, naturally, the sooner they could leave, the better.

Killer opened a spacetime rift and pulled Murder inside.

The spacetime rift closed.

It seemed the fellow Xx_FRESHSANS_xX had mentioned wouldn't get a chance to kill them after all.

Elsewhere, on Underswap's pacifist route.

"Get out of here, now...!"

Swap Papyrus's face was utterly serious as she stared fixedly at the figure ahead, whose back was turned to her.

"Oh, no, you can't leave that easily."

Nightmare sat high above, admiring the chaos wrought by the person before him.

"This world needs the fear and hatred you create."

Cross conjured a Shock Waves cannon covered in Xs behind him and destroyed the tops of the surrounding buildings. A mass of rubble came crashing down, narrowly missing the unarmed humans.

At that critical moment, Classic Sans and Fell Sans appeared in front of them, summoning enormous Shock Waves that pulverized the rubble.

"Who are you people?!"

Swap Papyrus's eyes widened as she looked at the two more white-haired figures who had appeared before her.

Far too many people who looked just like her older sister had shown up today. Had something gone wrong with the timeline?!

"It's a long story, little sister-I mean, girl. Anyway, don't stray too far."

"You... again?!"

Cross turned back, a dazzling purple light flashing in his left pupil.
