Kitahara stopped Uchiha Izumi from making a romantic advance toward Uchiha Itachi, while Itachi and Fugaku discussed Itachi’s mission to receive Kirigakure’s envoy. The chapter ended with Fugaku recognizing that Itachi had become the hope of the entire village.

• Orochimaru used the Reaper Death Seal release to summon Senju Hashirama, Senju Tobirama, Sarutobi Hiruzen, and Namikaze Minato into White Zetsu bodies.
• Senju Tobirama attacked Sasuke, and his Mutually Multiplying Explosive Tags shattered Sasuke's Susanoo.
