The scenery of the Wilderness never changed. It was either yellow sand or barren desert.
Most civilizations that managed to establish themselves had little greenery either, unless they ventured deep underground.
Whether that was good fortune or bad was hard to say.
Through various coincidences, the territory of the Flame Capital happened to contain several unusual landscapes that were normally difficult to find.
Sky Island, formed from exceptionally hard maglev rock drawn together by magnetic forces.
The black Grassland, nestled inside a mountain and sheltered from the storms of the Wilderness.
And... Misty Lake.
Shrouded in dense fog year-round, this lake was itself a unique formation created where an underground river flowed relatively gently through level terrain.
But that gentleness was only relative. The water would eventually flow farther down.
And that led to another unusual region, formed by a sudden, enormous drop in elevation.
-----༺Thunderfall Cliff༻-----
An exceedingly dangerous region that was almost the complete opposite of Misty Lake.
Thunderfall Cliff's drop of more than forty stories turned the rushing water droplets into something as terrifying as machine-gun fire.
Apart from the exposed iron deposits, almost the entire cliff was riddled with holes scoured out by the falling lake water.
Deafening noise, extremely poor visibility, and a waterfall that rained down like knives every day-this wretched place should have been utterly inhospitable to life.
Yet at the very bottom of Thunderfall Cliff...
In a small lake formed by the falling waters gathering once more, an enormous shelled being lay dormant.
With every breath, this being released an utterly pure blue liquid.
The surrounding water had all been dyed deep blue as a result, though an underground river leading to some unknown destination steadily diluted it.
Countless lifeblood vines spread outward from this enormous being. These hardy plants completely ignored
