Confidence was sometimes a good thing. It allowed bugs to perform to the best of their abilities.
But sometimes... it also kept bugs from recognizing their circumstances.
This day was one such example.
The week passed quickly. During that time, Iggs soon realized that the treatment he and Is received was worlds apart.
Apart from the first day, he had to begin almost every day by washing and organizing the experimental equipment used the day before.
That work alone took up most of the day, never mind secretly finding time to study the fundamentals of alchemy.
As for Rose, although she was called an apprentice, she was clearly receiving comprehensive training from Professor Aximia.
She hardly had to do any chores. Instead, she personally assisted with experiments that Iggs had yet to learn about.
It was unbelievable. She had only arrived a few days before him.
That familiar feeling was just like those Great Clans...
Iggs could not stop himself from thinking that way.
But her height...
Iggs was certain that, apart from Fireflies, no bugs from any Great Clan would venture out to make their own way at that age.
I must be overthinking it. I have to work harder. Only then can I win!
And so Iggs became even more diligent. He even cut back on his sleep.
As he put it, if he did not give it his all now, when would he?
Besides, he soon found an opportunity to prove himself.
The weekly test.
It had originally been an ordinary test intended for Is alone, but Iggs involved himself.
His courage was admirable, but whether he was reckless or truly had something to back it up remained to be seen.
Perhaps it was due to her temperament as an Alchemist, or perhaps she simply found it
