The Misty Lake.
Mist formed from water vapor mixed with an unknown liquid shrouded its surface all year round.
For some unknown reason, this place showed no signs of the Abyss's corruption.
But the Water Wraiths in the lake still made it too dangerous to live here.
Ripples spread across the lake again, and any fish that noticed them hurried away.
It was time for their daily hunt again. The Water Wraiths in the lake began chasing the swimming fish.
The Water Wraiths had little intelligence. They simply wanted to feed on instinct, even though most of them no longer needed to.
Their lumbering bodies struggled to catch the nimble fish.
Turning sharply, doubling back, and suddenly accelerating, the schools of fish deftly evaded the Water Wraiths.
But soon, the Water Wraiths discovered other prey.
A fishing boat floating on the water.
It was practically a plate piled high with delicacies.
Such a slow-moving target was much easier to catch than swimming fish.
They only needed to overturn the boat to devour its catch. If that did not fill them up, they could always eat the fisherman too.
But this time, they were in for a disappointment.
As the Water Wraiths eagerly approached, ready to overturn another fishing boat, they were met with a harpoon coated in deadly poison.
"Graa!"
The toxin extracted from beasts in the Fungal Wastes took effect instantly. The impaled Water Wraith howled in agony and desperately swam toward the depths of the lake.
The figure slowly withdrew the harpoon and examined it carefully. Beneath that fisherman's disguise was none other than a Jade Green Mantis.
"Just one drop of this purified toxin is enough to kill a beast from the Black Shell Plains stone dead, yet these Water Wraiths only suffer for a little while
