July 1991
Devon, outside the village of Ottery St Catchpole
The Burrow
The heat of the summer sun made anyone reluctant to stay indoors for even a single second.
Only beneath the lush English oak tree by the yard could one find a trace of coolness.
Except for Percy, that pompous fellow who was still reading and studying in his room, the six Weasley children-Charlie, the two sets of twins, and the only little daughter-were all beneath the tree.
"Tris, you're definitely cheating!" Thirteen-year-old, solidly built Fred threw down the playing cards in his hand while tearing off the paper strips that had already covered his entire face.
"That's right!" George beside him made almost the exact same move a split second later. "Otherwise, why are you always winning? Ron, don't you agree?"
Only eleven years old, Ron had even more paper strips on his face and had to peel back a portion of them just to reveal a suspicious look as he glanced toward Tris beside him-his twin brother.
Though he hadn't spoken, after losing all afternoon, to be honest, he was a little suspicious too.
"Merlin's pants! We're brothers by blood, and you actually suspect me?" The boy, who also had red hair and delicate facial features that looked like they belonged to a completely different style from his brothers, slammed the cards in his hand onto the ground as well.
"You guys really break my heart doing this! Charlie, Ginny, you two judge this. Do you think I'd cheat?"
Charlie, who was flipping through a copy of A Practical Guide to Dragon-Feeding and Motherhood, merely glanced up in this direction, smiled, and said nothing.
On the other hand, Ginny, who was holding a melon and happily digging out bites with a spoon, heard her seventh older brother's words and thought about it seriously before saying to the other three older brothers,
"Tris has always been smarter than you guys. I don't think it's strange at all that he wins against you."
"What do you mean he's always smarter than us!" Fred immediately grew displeased upon hearing this. "Ginny, you can't just take Tris's side because he usually plays with you and tells you stories."
"Am I supposed to take your side, Fred, when you're always playing pranks on me?" Ginny wrinkled her little nose. The young girl was very pretty, and the gesture made her look playful and cute.
"Well..." Fred stalled for a moment, his gaze darting quickly before he pointed at the twin beside him and said, "I'm not Fred, he is! I'm George!"
"Cut it out, you're Fred. Ginny meant you." This time, George did not go along with his twin brother.
When Fred saw that his good buddy refused to play along with him, he immediately let out a howl and lunged forward. The two of them instantly got into a scuffle and rolled onto the ground within moments.
"All right, cut it out. If you get your clothes dirty, Mom's going to be mad again in a minute," Charlie advised from where he was reading, though he limited it to mere words and didn't budge an inch.
Tris quietly let out a sigh of relief.
He had gotten away with it again.
Tristan Beeryles Weasley. The seventh direct-line child of the Weasley family, and Ron's twin brother.
Without any exception, he was a time traveler.
In his past life, while studying short videos, when a Tony teacher at a hair salon told him he had dandruff, he replied, 'That's because you didn't wash it clean.' As a result, the hyper-masculine Tony-who hadn't managed to sell a single membership card in three months and was brimming with frustration-stabbed him seventeen times with scissors.
When he regained consciousness, he was already a babbling toddler who couldn't even speak clearly.
He was also the infamous Ron: the Chosen One's number one best friend, the incompetent future Minister for Magic, the Hogwarts chess grandmaster, the spider-phright, the magical world's biker gang member, the Parseltongue repeater, the slug eater, the greatest goalkeeper, Gryffindor's king, Lavender's little romantic fellow, the Love Potion connoisseur, the Horcrux destroyer, and the Weasley family's out-of-nowhere extra twin brother.
The moment he confirmed his identity, Tris was both startled and overjoyed.
What brought him joy was naturally the fact that he had transmigrated into the magical world, and even landed as a member of the Weasley family, which stood right at the backend of the story.
What startled him, however, was that the members of the Weasley family faced dangers on all sides.
The cute and innocent little sister Ginny was nearly possessed by Voldemort's Horcrux; the loving and carefree dad Arthur nearly died in a snake's jaws; the handsome eldest brother was mauled by a werewolf, disfigured, and left with lifelong sequelae; of the lively twins, one died, and the other could never again cast the Patronus Charm, which drew its source from happiness...
Watching as a spectator in front of a screen and experiencing it firsthand as a member of the family felt completely different.
Tris didn't even dare to imagine how heartbroken his mother must have been when she saw Fred's corpse.
He had to protect his family!
This would not be easy.
Voldemort was known as the most powerful dark wizard in history!
Initially, Tris did not have any particularly good methods. To fight Voldemort, scheming alone was not enough. One's own strength also had to be top-notch.
Yet, as it happened, the previous Tris lacked the means to improve his strength.
There were plenty of wizards in the wizarding world who pursued power, especially those from Slytherin House; weren't there quite a few who wanted to grow stronger?
Yet how many actually reached high levels of strength?
When Tris first transmigrated, he had no golden finger, and wanting to grow stronger meant he severely lacked resources.
The Weasleys were an old wizarding family, but they had been going downhill for many years. They had an ancestral home, but because they couldn't afford to maintain the large Muggle-Repelling Charm and protective spell, they had to completely seal it off and live in the present Burrow.
Aside from ordinary daily necessities, the family possessed none of those magical texts, ancient scrolls, or archaic inheritances!
Tris had asked around in a roundabout way.
It wasn't that the Weasley family didn't have these things; they were simply all in the ancestral home-thankfully, Tris had really been worried that his parents might have sold them for Galleons.
To open the ancestral home, he had to resolve the family's severe financial plight.
As for ways to make quick money, Tris, who had leafed through the penal code in his past life, knew quite a few. Yet in the wizarding world, very few of those methods could actually be used.
Wizards lived free of material worries, but that was only for basic necessities.
Most daily supplies could be self-produced and self-sold by wizards, and the paths to making money basically all involved technical barriers.
As for the quick-money routes Tris wanted, they existed, but they all required powerful strength to back them up.
Wanting quick money required strong strength, wanting to quickly boost strength meant opening the ancestral home, and opening the ancestral home required earning a huge sum of money.
Oh well, a closed loop!
Tris actually tried giving his mom and dad ideas to see if they could earn some extra cash, bonuses, and the like.
Did it work? Well, it did.
For example, when he was five, upon learning that the inside of the Ministry of Magic was still using owls to deliver mail, which left the offices in a mess, he immediately suggested using magical paper airplanes or paper mice combined with pipes as replacements.
He remembered there were similar scenes in the movies, just not when, or by which clever baby they were proposed.
That didn't matter; now that clever baby was Tris.
As for how things developed, the first half was about what Tris envisioned. The Ministry of Magic rewarded Arthur a handsome bonus.
Yet the second half was a bit different from what he thought...
Subconsciously, Tris glanced toward the corner of the yard.
Under a tarp over there, the outline of a car was faintly visible.
That was a Ford Anglia Arthur didn't know where he had gotten, and had thoroughly modified. It was the very same Ford that, in the original plot's second year, Ron would drive to Hogwarts, then speed wildly through the Forbidden Forest.
Originally, this car had everything rattling except the horn, but because of that bonus, it was now a fully functional, excellent magical car with even the speeding capabilities of the Knight Bus.
"I truly can't carry this team," Tris sighed.
"What, what are you going to carry?" Ron, who had just peeled the paper strip off his face, heard his words and asked in bewilderment.
"Nothing, I was just talking nonsense." Tris shook his head to say it was fine.
"Oh," Ron glanced at the twin brothers who had already run far away, then looked at Charlie and Ginny, who showed no intention of coming over to take their place. Knowing the card game was over, he asked, "Want to play chess?"
He actually didn't much like Tris.
Although the two of them were twins, they were fraternal twins-a term the Weasley family only learned after having Tris.
Ron's facial shape resembled their dad, while Tris took after their mom-Molly had also been very slender when she was young. Otherwise, she wouldn't have given birth to such a pretty girl as Ginny.
Not only did they not look alike, their personalities were completely different either.
In the past few days, before Tris suddenly started looking for his brothers to play cards, he almost always spent his time reading books and newspapers alone.
Compared to Fred and George, Ron felt like he had a fake twin brother.
"Not playing!" Tris decisively shook his head; he certainly didn't want to play chess with Ron.
The Hogwarts chess saint was already showing the budding signs of his prowess, and Tris was no match for him at all.
"I'll give you a pawn." Ron offered.
"No!"
"Then a bishop?"
"No!"
"A knight, then?"
"I wouldn't play you even if you gave me a queen." Tris rolled his eyes, got up, and said, "I'm going for a run. My exercise quota for today hasn't been finished yet."
"How come you suddenly like exercising so much?" Ron asked in puzzlement. "I've never seen you have this hobby before. We're wizards, what use is exercising the body?"
"You don't understand," Tris shook his head. "This is for a bright future."
Ron wore a blank look, not understanding what Tris meant by those words. After all, he couldn't see the thing in front of Tris's eyes right now.
