Tris had no idea how Dumbledore, Sirius, and the others would go on to haggle with Lucius, or whether they would believe him when he said he really had possessed a Horcrux, only to lose it-a claim so outrageous that it was, in fact, the truth.

Nor did he know whether that hothead Sirius would take advantage of his own family having a vault deep beneath Gringotts to make a head-on assault and break into the Lestrange family's vault. Tris thought he really was capable of doing something like that.

He felt he did not need to worry about it. He had already saved Dumbledore, after all. With that tall man there to hold up the sky, Tris would not have to worry about it falling for now.

What he needed to do now was improve his own strength as quickly as possible.

What your parents had was never as good as what you had yourself. Dumbledore's power certainly gave him solid backing, but Tris still hoped to rely on himself at a critical moment rather than wait for someone else to rescue him.

The Christmas holiday was not particularly long, and the last few days passed especially quickly.

It felt as though, in the blink of an eye, Tris and the others were already back aboard the train to Hogwarts.

They ran into Neville as soon as they boarded.

Neville had spent Christmas at the home of his great-uncle, who worked in the Netherlands. He had had a fantastic time, and the moment he saw Harry and the others, he began telling them about all the fun he had had.

Naturally, Harry and Ron started talking about their trip to Egypt as well. Everyone traded stories about the new things they had encountered over the holiday, chatting away happily.
