Tris's contemptuous attitude clearly infuriated quite a few of the people facing him.
"Kill him!" someone roared. The next instant, seven or eight others rose to his provocation and attacked together. Seven or eight spells hurtled toward Tris at once.
Tris sneered. A moment later, the wizards who had attacked felt the scenery around them warp. Then everyone else vanished into thin air, leaving only those who had struck.
What was more, everything around them grew blurred and dim.
"Shadow Magic?" One of them happened to know enough to recognize the technique. But that recognition did not reassure him. It only made him panic more.
Shadow Magic could open up a shadow realm within a certain area and drag targets inside. But pulling them in took time, and the stronger a target's magic and soul, the harder it was to do.
Yet that redheaded brat had dragged eight people in at once, without him feeling a thing. What the hell kind of mastery was that?
Quite a few people knew that Dumbledore had a Deluminator, but far fewer knew what it could actually do. At the very least, these eight unlucky bastards did not.
