Dumbledore caught the third slip of paper, and his eyebrows rose slightly when he saw the name on it.
It was a tiny movement, but anyone paying attention could still notice it. Tris, for instance. Dumbledore hadn't done that for either of the previous two champions.
That was only natural. After all, the champions from the other schools had little to do with him as Hogwarts Headmaster.
Everyone's eyes were fixed on Dumbledore's face, especially the Hogwarts students, whose eyes practically blazed.
"Next is the Hogwarts champion." Dumbledore smiled faintly, even drawing out the suspense a little before continuing, "Tris Weasley."
"Whoa!" Almost everyone at the Slytherin table screamed. In fact, apart from the generally dejected Hufflepuffs, the students from the other two houses looked excited too.
That wasn't to say they all particularly liked Tris. They really didn't.
Tris wasn't exactly the sort of person everyone adored. Girls might have been a little more inclined to like him, since he did have a rather handsome face.
Among the boys, however, there weren't many who liked him.
Fred and George had acknowledged that Tris possessed the soul of a prankster. How could he possibly be an angel? Although he wasn't as fond of pranks as his two older brothers, he certainly did his fair share of stirring up trouble.
The reason he still had the support of most Hogwarts students was simple.
Strength!
The champions represented their respective schools.
Although almost every student hoped to become a champion and make a name for themselves, most of them had enough fucking sense to know they didn't really stand a chance.
Since they had no hope of becoming champions themselves, naturally, the stronger the chosen champion was, the better. Ideally, their champion would crush the other schools' champions and win the Triwizard
