Shadow Magic was so useful!
After leaving the Common Room and returning to the spot opposite that goofy tapestry on the seventh floor of the Main Building, Tris thought with satisfaction.
On the way, he had encountered two prefects, as well as Mrs. Norris. None of them had noticed the slightest trace of him.
Shadow Magic did not make him completely invisible. At the very least, it could not compare to Harry's Invisibility Cloak, one of the Deathly Hallows. That reminded him-he wondered whether Harry had received the cloak yet.
Probably not. Even if Harry could keep his mouth shut, his bigmouthed brother Ron certainly could not.
As Tris thought, he paced back and forth before the wall opposite the tapestry, thinking to himself, I need a place to hide things.
He walked past three times. Nothing happened.
"Oh!" Tris slapped his forehead. He had forgotten again.
He tried again, this time projecting his thoughts outward. Sure enough, on his third pass, a smooth bronze door appeared on the previously empty wall, its surface covered in intricate, exquisite patterns.
"There it is," Tris muttered, turning the handle and pushing the door open.
The space inside was unexpectedly vast. In terms of either floor area or volume, the entire seventh floor could not possibly have accommodated it.
It was even far larger than the Great Hall, the biggest room in Hogwarts Castle. Countless objects lay piled haphazardly inside, and Tris could not even identify more than half of them.
He reached back and closed the door. He did not want anyone discovering him, even though there was nothing else on the seventh floor besides the Headmaster's Office, and people rarely came up here.
Heaps of all sorts of strange objects-or rather, junk-formed little mountains.
Perhaps, in much earlier times, the Room
