Tris almost failed to make it out of the Washroom.
Using Samadhi True Fire-even for only thirty seconds-had consumed far more energy than he had expected. His whole body had gone limp, and he had nearly drowned in the bathtub.
He had finally managed to climb out, but could not even be bothered to go get breakfast. He collapsed onto his bed and fell asleep within a few breaths.
Yet it was during this sleep that something unexpected happened.
When Tris opened his eyes, he discovered, to his astonishment, that he was not in his dormitory, but somewhere pitch-black.

The moment the maze appeared, he had also felt his connection to it, confirming that it was his own maze rather than someone else's.
But just as he prepared to rise into the air and leave, great clouds of black mist suddenly spread through the maze, interfering with the clear connection he had felt moments earlier.
Tris could still sense his connection to the Thought Maze, but he could no longer escape immediately.
Huh?
Tris was a little surprised. From everything he knew about the Thought Maze, it definitely contained nothing
