Madam Pomfrey simply could not understand why the first thing Tris wanted to do after waking up was go running, but there really was nothing wrong with his health.

Though she was not particularly happy about it, Tris was so insistent that Madam Pomfrey let him have his way.

Tris ran to the Great Hall first. Seeing that lunch had not ended yet, he hurriedly wolfed down a few mouthfuls, then walked slowly to let his food settle. Once it had mostly settled, he began jogging and stepped up his exercise.

When he ran into a classmate along the way, he even greeted him with a cheerful grin.

Word of last night's events had not spread yet-Ron had not woken up-so everyone was only puzzled about why Tris was running at noon today.

Things changed at dinner, however.

Tris spent the afternoon reading in his dormitory-he had increased his quota of in-depth reading, too, and now needed a long stretch in a quiet environment where he could concentrate every day.

Neither the library nor the Common Room was particularly suitable. Instead, the dormitory had become the best place.

Blaise and Theodore did not dare disturb him. They would get beaten up.

When he came out again at dinnertime, he discovered that the whole school was already talking about how the four of them had protected the Philosopher's Stone last night.
