Lockhart's "class quiz" had wasted so much time that the bell rang for the end of class just as the pixies were released.
The students in the chaotic classroom swarmed toward the door. Finding it shut, they immediately began pounding on it.
Tris held the door firmly shut, happily watching the entertainment inside. The battle between nearly a hundred Cornish Pixies, twenty young wizards, and one useless lump named Lockhart was in full swing.
It wasn't that they didn't want to get out. Tris was simply stronger than they were, and the doorway made it difficult for several people to push together. The door remained firmly blocked.
"Tris, if you don't open this door, I'm going to use magic!" Draco shouted, jumping up and down by the door.
Crabbe and Goyle guarded his back, but the two chubby boys were so terrible at magic that they could only serve as meat shields, and even that wasn't particularly effective.
"Go ahead and try." Tris wasn't worried in the slightest. "I've heard that Hogwarts classroom doors are reinforced with magic. This is the perfect chance to see how good your spells are."
"You bastard! Let me out!"
"Tris, open the door!"
Shouts filled the room as Tris watched with a grin. He'd been looking forward to this all day. He had no more classes anyway, so he could watch such an entertaining scene all afternoon.
Unfortunately, Tris didn't get to watch all afternoon.
He might not have any more classes, but other people still needed to use this classroom.
The fifth-years arrived for Defense Against Dark Magic, saw what was happening inside, and dealt with the pixies.
For fifth-year wizards, handling Cornish Pixies was easy enough.
But when they saw Lockhart crawl out from under the teacher's desk, their expressions were priceless.
