It was going premium! (Tosses confetti)
Heh heh heh, didn't see that coming, did you?
Neither did I. It happened pretty suddenly.
It was just... a little hasty.
First of all, thanks to my editor Tea Da for fishing me out, and to all the readers who kept following along, supporting me, tipping, and voting.
The book would go premium around noon today, officially opening up VIP chapters. I would start by posting... three chapters.
One four-thousand-character double chapter, plus two "standard" two-thousand-character chapters, meaning at least eight thousand characters to start with, possibly more.
Of course, that double chapter was originally supposed to go up tonight. I actually considered updating as usual right now, letting Xiao Yan refine the Green Lotus Core Flame before the book went premium, then unleashing a burst of updates at noon...
But I had no stockpile.
I originally did, but a lot had been going on lately. Add in the two or three extra chapters I posted a while back, and my stockpile had been completely wiped out.
My entire stockpile consisted of that one "double chapter," so I could only save it for the premium launch. If I wrote two more chapters today, tomorrow's three noon chapters would be ready.
The first day's premium updates would total eight thousand characters, if not ten thousand-a modest show of sincerity.
I would make up the missed update later, to compensate for not posting in the early hours today.
Next came the same old topic: subscriptions.
Although Ge Men was already a seasoned old hand behind the wheel (scratch that), an author, and knew perfectly well that those who would subscribe would subscribe, while those who read pirated copies would keep doing so no matter what I said, I still wanted to ask for subscriptions.
