On the first day of the two-week Easter holiday, the Castle was very quiet, and all was peaceful.
Everyone was sleeping soundly in bed, apart from a few tireless Ravenclaw eaglets and some bewildered messengers carrying parcels whose recipients they could not find.
Only when the sun was well on its way down did the ravenous young wizards appear in the Great Hall, one after another.
Something was off about the atmosphere in the Great Hall. The staff table was actually full, and professors who were rarely seen there had all appeared.
Headmaster Dumbledore was there too.
The unusual atmosphere immediately caught the attention of the young wizards, Su Er included. Once they had finished eating, everyone fell silent without needing to be told.
"Clink, clink, clink..." Following the usual procedure, Professor McGonagall gently tapped her golden goblet with a silver spoon.
Every young wizard's gaze shot toward Dumbledore, who sat upright on his golden throne.
"Professor McGonagall has told me about your performance." Professor Dumbledore stood up. "I am very pleased. Thanks to you, the Castle was spared a tremendous loss."
"For that, I believe you should give yourselves a round of applause."
"Clap, clap..." The young wizards began applauding with excited faces. When the dense applause dwindled to scattered claps, Dumbledore continued.
"At the same time, I must also announce some distressing news."
"Our respected Care of Magical Creatures professor, Silvanus Professor Kettleburn, must temporarily leave his teaching position because of his health."
Small pockets of quiet discussion began among the students below, mostly those in their third year or above who had chosen Care of Magical Creatures as an elective.
So yesterday's incident really was Professor Kettleburn's doing?
Su Er pondered silently. He was certain that no similar incident or scene had occurred in the original story.
