That evening, Su Er took some snacks and Crookshanks to visit Hermione.
Crookshanks was rather bewildered to find that his owner had turned into a cat too, but he soon accepted the fact and lay on Hermione, purring.
As the saying went, the first time was unfamiliar, the second familiar, and by the third it became a habit.
Watching Hermione lower her head and pet Crookshanks with practiced hands, Su Er reassured himself that every chance to pet her was one fewer chance left, then reached straight out to do just that.
A catgirl was still a cat. Was there anything wrong with a real man liking to pet cats? No!
The result was no surprise: Su Er jogged all the way back to his dormitory. As for Crookshanks? No matter. Picking him up tomorrow would be soon enough.
Before going to sleep, he thought of the notebook he had handed to Dumbledore the night before. He wondered how Dumbledore would deal with it.
And that basilisk...
The night passed without incident. Without his roommates' occasional snores, Su Er slept well and woke refreshed. Crookshanks had returned to the dormitory at some point and was sleeping soundly, curled up quietly on Morn's bed.
Time passed particularly quickly along his regular four-stop route: the dormitory, the Hospital Wing for cat-petting, Flitwick's office, and the Great Hall. A week slipped by in a flash.
His remaining holiday was about to run out too.
During this time, Su Er successfully cast the Patronus Charm, but it was not a corporeal Patronus. In fact, not even an indistinct shape appeared. All he produced was a small cloud of silvery-white mist.
"When casting the Patronus Charm, a wizard must maintain a happy state of mind. Positive, constructive emotions can help a Patronus form more quickly,"
