The potion entered his mouth, but the pain he had imagined never came.
Instead, it felt comfortable, as though warm water surrounded his entire body. Su Er miraculously "saw" the mouthful of potion that had already entered him.
He became a spectator.
The potion "swam" into his body the instant it entered his mouth. Then, as it traveled down his long esophagus, a marvelous change occurred-the blood-red liquid turned into a mass of threads, rapidly passing through his blood vessels and rushing straight toward its target.
-The somewhat illusory heart that had appeared inside Su Er long ago.
This was Su Er's first time seeing his second heart. It hovered indistinctly behind and above his main heart.
The blood-red threads had already wound tightly around it, with fine strands dangling down to connect to Su Er's own heart.
"Thump..."
"Thump, thump..."
The two hearts, beating at different rates, gradually synchronized.
Something caught Su Er completely off guard. The instant the two hearts synchronized perfectly, the illusory heart exploded. Yes, just like the Fat Man dropped on Cherry Blossom Country-BOOM...
The book had never mentioned anything like this happening...
For a moment, Su Er panicked.
But what happened next left him no time to think about why the heart had exploded, because the red mist from the explosion was traveling straight upward.
Everything he had just seen had happened in an instant. A wave of excruciating pain swept over him.
Su Er's vision went black, and he crumpled to the ground.
"Ah..." He clenched his teeth, a low groan escaping him.
You call this a little pain? Damn author, just you wait. I'll look up your name when I get back. Even if you've become a ghost, I'll drag you up and whip you seventeen or eighteen times.
