"All right," Dumbledore said. "Lower your head, and it will take you into a memory. We can discuss what comes next after we've watched this memory."
As he spoke, Dumbledore picked up his wand and tapped the basin. The inky substance spun rapidly, then turned transparent, faintly revealing what looked like a wooden room within.
Su Er glanced up at Dumbledore, then lowered his head toward the transparent liquid without hesitation. The instant his eyelashes touched it, a tremendous pull dragged his entire body inside.
Only when Su Er felt himself land on the floor did he make out the scene before him. He had landed in a room filled with crystal balls, its walls hung with brightly colored pieces of cloth covered in strange symbols.
Before him stood a long table. Besides crystal balls of various sizes, there were porcelain cups, one after another, with black residue left inside.
Su Er sniffed lightly and caught a strong smell he could not quite describe.
"This is Sybill's room," Dumbledore's voice sounded behind Su Er. "Wait a moment. I'll be here shortly."
No sooner had he finished than a slightly pleading voice came from behind them. Su Er turned to see Dumbledore, looking little different from his present self, enter through the doorway behind them. Following close behind was the fraud Hermione had spoken of, the somewhat neurotic Professor Sybill Trelawney.
She wore an extravagant outfit, two large hoop earrings, and round glasses with ornate rims. As she walked, the peculiar ornaments hanging from her clothes jingled. Trailing behind Dumbledore, she pleaded,
"Please, Headmaster Dumbledore, I need this job."
"Personally, I'm willing to keep a position for you, Sybill. I know your abilities better than anyone," Dumbledore replied, walking straight through Su Er's body.
Su Er touched his body in puzzlement.
