"What a shame." Fred and George wore rather complicated expressions as they watched the Irish Team's players raise the trophy high, then leave the box and begin flying laps around the stadium on their broomsticks.
"If we'd bet all our gold earlier, we'd have a huge pile of Galleons coming in now."
Although the Irish Team's victory delighted them, they felt some regret at missing such a good chance to make a fortune.
Their voices were quiet, and there was no suggestion of blaming anyone in their tone, only considerable regret.
Su Er happened to hear them. He patted Fred on the shoulder and directed his attention toward Bagman. As luck would have it, they saw Bagman holding a small pouch and stuffing Leprechaun gold into it.
"Leprechaun gold is fake. You know that, right?" Su Er reminded them.
"Fake?" George blinked, took a gold coin he had just picked up out of his pocket, blew hard on it, and held it to his ear to listen. It felt completely different from holding a real Galleon to his ear.
"It really is fake." Looking disgusted, George threw the gold coin onto the ground. The two of them had picked up quite a lot with Fred earlier.
"So you're saying..." Fred looked at Su Er in disbelief. "Mr. Bagman will use Leprechaun gold to pay out the bets?"
"I remember he offered you very high odds. If you'd staked everything you had, he definitely wouldn't have been able to come up with that much money." Su Er shrugged.
"I suggest you stop him now and get what you're owed, along with Mr. Weasley's share. Oh, right, remember to check it, or there's no telling what might happen afterward."
"You're right!" Fred caught on at once and ran over to Mr. Weasley
