Su Er had finished explaining his affairs. Now it was Hermione's turn to tell him what had happened during his absence from the castle over the past half month or so.
The first thing was naturally the visit from the Durmstrang Institute and Beauxbatons in a week's time, on October 30.
Besides that, there were a few things that had happened over the past half month or so that could be considered interesting.
For instance, Hagrid's Blast-Ended Skrewts had somehow grown at an astonishing rate during that time, although no one had figured out how these mouthless Cthulhu creatures grew.
There had been another little hiccup in Snape's potions class. Dear Professor Snape had hinted during class that he would poison one of the young wizards before Christmas, forcing them to rack their brains lately researching antidotes. But there were simply too many kinds of potions that could be used to counter poisons.
Hermione had spent this time searching potion books for medicines that could counter poisons, intending to brew every one of them.
Su Er, however, thought a general antidote should be enough to handle Snape's test. The old Snape would certainly have tested his students with strange potions that were not fatal but would put them through some suffering, such as stacking several poisons with different effects that did not conflict with each other-for example, combining an enlarged tongue with itching all over.
But now his attention was entirely on his newly acquired big toy, so he most likely would not go to too much trouble tormenting the students.
