The voice that suddenly rang out startled Pheobe. Her face turned deathly pale, and she quickly raised her wand, but Su Er looked delighted.
There was always a way out.
A pearly-white figure floated toward them.
It was Moaning Myrtle.
"Have you forgotten that you promised to come and see me in the bathroom?" Moaning Myrtle sounded deeply aggrieved, her eyes reproachful behind her thick, pearly glasses. She glanced at the bedraggled Pheobe beside him, then suddenly giggled.
"No wonder, no wonder you never came to see me. You had someone to keep you company. I know you. The ghosts in the Castle have all been talking about the Veela who came to the Castle."
Moaning Myrtle swiftly switched targets, floating right up to Pheobe and studying her curiously.
Terrified, Pheobe flicked her fish tail and hid behind Su Er.
"Tsk, tsk..." Moaning Myrtle paid no mind to Pheobe's reaction. "So beautiful. This is my first time seeing a Veela. No wonder. Who could resist a Veela's charms? Is this your new girlfriend, Su Er?"
Su Er quickly waved his hands, then pressed his palms together toward Moaning Myrtle and shook them.
"You came at just the right time, Moaning Myrtle."
But the moment his voice left the Bubble-Head Charm, it became a large mass of bubbles.
"Hee hee hee..." Moaning Myrtle seemed to find this immensely amusing. She reached out to poke a bubble with great interest, but her finger passed through it without bursting it.
"I ran into Harry Potter just over there. He had grown gills beside his mouth, just like those nasty Merpeople."
"I don't much like those Merpeople. They chase me whenever they see me. Those Grindylows are horrible too. I ran into a whole crowd of those ugly things over there just now.
