At the end of the stone steps stood a door, a heavy stone door.
Strangely, the door stood ajar, and a damp, musty breeze blew out from within.
Su Er did not rush joyfully through the gap. He would never assume that some careless Death Eater had left it open.
There had to be guards inside.
And in the dim light, there was one ideal solution-
Silently reciting the incantation, Su Er made a tiny light flicker at his wand tip. The glow, as faint as a firefly, detached from his wand and, guided by his thoughts, drifted through the gap.
An instant later, a spot of red light appeared inside.
There were guards after all.
A smile had barely touched Su Er's lips when brilliant light flooded the dark gap.
This was no simple little spell. After Professor Flitwick's modifications, it was no longer a basic Lumos.
How about a flashbang?
No matter how powerful a wizard was, he was still fundamentally human. And as long as he was human, his eyes were bound to be a weakness. If eyes accustomed to darkness were suddenly struck by intense light...
Heh, that would be interesting.
As muffled groans rang out, Su Er judged that no one in an enclosed space would escape unscathed, including the prisoner held inside.
Sorry, Mr. Ollivander. I hope you can forgive me. Madam Pomfrey is a good healer. She'll certainly be able to cure you.
And so... before the light had fully faded, Su Er slipped through the doorway.
"Stupefy!"
Two streaks of red light flashed in succession. With the dull thuds of heavy bodies hitting the floor, Su Er let out a quiet breath of relief.
His timing had been excellent. The brilliant light faded just then, plunging the whole room back into darkness.
