On the living room sofa, Mr. Ellison looked at Vernon Dursley with a gentle smile.
"I certainly never expected your nephew and my son to be friends, Vernon."
"Heh, heh..." Mr. Dursley laughed awkwardly. "Neither did I, Mr. Ellison."
As he spoke, Mr. Dursley cast a discreet glance at Su Er and Harry, who were sitting in a corner on the other side.
An absurd thought suddenly popped into his head.
Harry was thrilled. He had never imagined that an outing with the Dursley family would lead to him running into his friend from Hogwarts Castle.
"What are you doing here?" he asked quietly.
"Is that so strange?" Su Er blinked. "I've always lived here. This is my home."
While Su Er and Harry were whispering, a box was held out in front of Su Er.
"Hello, my name's Dudley Dursley." The chubby Dudley stood before Su Er with a smile on his face. "This is a gift for you."
"Thank you." Su Er paused in surprise, but still took the box Dudley offered. "Do you mind if I open it?"
"Of course not. My mum and I spent ages choosing it. I hope you like it," Dudley said.
It was a fountain pen. Well... a perfectly ordinary gift.
"Thank you. I like it very much." Su Er nodded reservedly and placed the gift box on the coffee table beside him.
Perhaps Su Er really did have a friendly face, for Dudley plucked up the courage to ask the question that had intrigued him since earlier.
"You know this freak?"
"Freak?" Su Er frowned almost imperceptibly.
"Oh, you don't know. This freak is a..." Dudley paused, then said very quietly, "a wizard. You know, someone who does tricks with a stick... You'd better stay away from him..."
