John had only been away from Taran Industries for a day. Standing in the building, he stared at the glass scattered across the floor and the employees unlucky enough to have been cut by it, lost in thought.
"Was this... a terrorist attack?"
His first thought was the Ten Rings, but his uncle had chopped off their puppet leader's head, and their real leader had reached an agreement with him just days ago.
So who was the lunatic behind this?
Could it have been Kingpin?
Only when he saw Orlov with an arm around Ivan's shoulders, recommending which leather shoes he should buy, did he finally realize who was responsible.
"The company will cover the medical expenses of everyone injured today, and each of them will receive twenty thousand in compensation." John grabbed a random employee. "Also, everyone gets triple pay this month. Have HR work out a schedule for everyone to go to Miami next month in batches for beach barbecues."
The employee had been groaning in pain, but the moment he heard about those benefits, he perked right up and happily went off to spread the news.
As Ivan approached, John casually asked, "Did it work?"
"There was a little accident," Ivan said with a shrug. "But it worked."
"Then congratulations on taking another step toward revenge." John took out his pocket watch and checked it. "We need to contact a construction crew to replace the glass and inspect the floors for damage."
"Any objections, Orlov?"
He looked at Orlov, who was grinning from ear to ear.
Orlov gave him a thumbs-up. "It's all up to you, John."
Ivan had developed not only an energy source but also the Fighter Armor. In Orlov's eyes, he had become a walking money tree.
That was the good thing about capitalists.
