Amid a series of screams, a vampire fell at the four men's feet. Compared to their initial tension and panic, Yang Bo and the others were now old hands at this.

Through tonight's tests, Yang Bo discovered that leveling up as a Hunter gave him more than just skill points. His detection range had increased too. Although it was only five meters, it was enough to make him look forward to reaching level 15, when he would become a walking vampire radar.

Yang Bo picked up the drops from the ground, patted Leo on the shoulder, and said, "Leo, let's call it a night!"

"Get some proper rest for a couple of days. With so many vampires killed over these past two days, they're bound to notice. Watch yourselves!"

Leo stuffed the loot he had just taken from the vampire into his pocket and nodded seriously. "Don't worry, I'll be careful. We'll stay in another city for a few days. If you need us, just call!"

Yang Bo was pleased with Leo's plan. Once you pissed someone off, running away should naturally be your first move.

"All right. Stay alert when you go out, and keep your weapons on you. Do you know of any abandoned subway stations or construction sites? I need to find some things. Give me a ride there!"

Leo fell into thought at his words, while Kerry cut in from the side. "Queens. I know an abandoned construction site there. Apparently something happened to the developer's company, and construction stopped altogether."

Yang Bo's eyes lit up, and he immediately asked, "Are there plenty of I-beams and building materials there?"

Kerry paused, not expecting Yang Bo to ask that sort of question, then nodded. "The site's been completely sealed off, but I last saw it a week ago. I'm not too sure what it's like now."

"Take me over for a look!"

None of them asked what Yang Bo intended to do. Leo was smart. If Yang Bo wanted them to know, he would tell them.

They split up into pairs and made their way back to the car parked some distance away. Sitting in the front passenger seat, Yang Bo reminded him, "Leo, you'd better get a different car. This one stands out too much. Ideally, buy some eighth-hand junker. If anything goes wrong, you can ditch it without feeling bad."

"Sure, I'll figure something out!"

Following Kerry's directions, they headed straight for the abandoned construction site in Queens. It was already three in the morning, but there were still a few pedestrians along both sides of the road.

Just then, a black minivan passed beside him.

Yang Bo's attention was immediately drawn to it.

"Leo, follow that car. Be careful!"

He sensed three vampires inside the vehicle, and its appearance was something he could never forget. If his guess was right, this vehicle was out specifically to find food.

Leo pressed the accelerator and slowly caught up with the vehicle ahead.

Yang Bo took out his cigarettes and handed one to each of the three men. Watching the black vehicle ahead, he wondered, Was that underground dance club at the beginning not the opening of Blade's story? The Slaughterhouse was wiped out, yet they still dared to come out and abduct people?

Taking a deep drag, Yang Bo told the three men seriously, "There are three vampires in that car. Leo, find somewhere out of sight and figure out a way to make them stop. Finish this fast, and don't hold back this time. Forget about taking their supplies."

"Don't worry!"

"We know what to do!"

All three assured him it would be no problem. A few minutes later, the black minivan turned onto a quiet side street. Leo slammed down on the accelerator, pulled alongside it, rolled down his window, and made a provocative gesture.

Despite the provocation, the vampire driving showed no sign of anger and kept driving with an indifferent expression. Leo quickly pulled in front of their vehicle and called out to the others in his car.

"Careful, hold on tight!"

He hit the brakes, then quickly accelerated again to avoid being rear-ended. After he repeated this three times, the vehicle behind them had slowed right down.

He stopped, and the vehicle behind stopped as well. Kerry deftly grabbed a baseball bat, opened the door, and walked toward the minivan behind them. He raised the bat and smashed it against the vehicle with a bang.

"Hey, get out!"

"I feel like borrowing some money from you today!"

As he spoke, he struck their vehicle again.

Looking like he was practically begging for a beating, he tried to provoke them into getting out. Leo and the other man also climbed out with baseball bats and joined him.

The vampires in the minivan might have been patient, but even they couldn't tolerate being insulted over and over. Three muscular thugs in suits got out. Compared to them, Yang Bo and his three companions looked distinctly less imposing.

Did these three grow up eating Yao Ming? Why are they all so tall?

Yang Bo tilted his head up slightly to look at them, unable to resist grumbling inwardly. He had thought his height of 185 centimeters was pretty decent, but even the shortest of these three was ten centimeters taller than him.

Their muscles strained against their black suit jackets. They were practically the textbook image of hired muscle.

Vampires actually have elites like these!

The three vampires walked straight toward Yang Bo and his companions. Their brisk pace made it clear they were in a foul mood.

"You're asking to die!"

The one in front could no longer suppress his anger. He reached for Kerry, whose expression was the most punchable of the lot. His sharp claws were difficult to spot in the dim light.

Bang!

A gunshot rang out. Leo had already drawn his pistol, aimed at the vampire's head, and pulled the trigger. The vampire had never expected three mere street punks to dare open fire without hesitation. One shot was all it took, leaving a bloody hole in his forehead. A vampire's body was stronger than a human's, but a shot to the head was still fatal. The vampire fell to the ground, his body bursting into flames.

Bang... bang... bang...

A string of gunshots rang out as all three men drew their pistols and pulled the triggers. The remaining two vampires reacted the instant they heard the first shot, raising their arms to shield their heads. This was where a vampire's strength showed itself. A human shot in the arms and body would have lost the ability to fight long ago, but these two vampires took several bullets and still tried to charge at them.

Seeing this, Yang Bo didn't hesitate. He pulled out the Stone Axe and swung it at one of them, landing a critical hit with a leaping chop. A health bar appeared above his opponent's head.

Of his maximum 100 health points, only 72 remained. Ordinary bullets really did far too little damage to vampires.

"You three handle that one. Leave this one to me!"

Yang Bo shouted, attacking from left and right and making the vampire before him scream again and again. On the other side, Leo kept the vampire pinned down with gunfire while Kerry and the other man took out baseball bats wrapped with the Silver Necklace, stepped forward, and smashed them down hard.

A little over ten seconds later, all three vampires had turned to ash. Looking at the minivan they had left behind, Yang Bo had an idea. He took out the Pickaxe and struck the vehicle. It shook twice, turned into a miniature drop, and went into his inventory. Two figures appeared where the vehicle had vanished.

I'll take the vehicle back and see if I can smelt it into iron ingots. If I can, that'll be great!
