The nightclub incident

Unfortunately.

The beautiful, sexy vampire hadn't granted Yang Bo's request. The reason was simple: just as a human wouldn't try to screw a plate of delicious-looking shredded pork in garlic sauce sitting on the table, she was only interested in his blood. Whether he was a virgin had nothing to do with her.

The music in the underground nightclub grew ever more deafening, and the atmosphere slowly reached a fever pitch. Dumped on a sofa, Yang Bo watched the crowd on the dance floor with cold eyes, temporarily ignoring the female vampire taking liberties with him.

I wonder how many people in that crowd are "food" like me.

Just then, a strong rusty smell invaded Yang Bo's nose, making him instinctively frown. Large quantities of liquid sprayed down from the nightclub's ceiling. In the dim light, the humans who had already gone wild noticed nothing wrong and kept their eyes closed, enjoying their final revelry.

The scent of blood made the disguised vampires unable to restrain their instincts. They opened their mouths, exposing their fangs.

Here it comes...

Yang Bo glanced at the beauty beside him, who had also exposed her fangs. A hint of madness flashed through his eyes.

"Hey, gorgeous, I fucked your mom! And no, that's not an insult!"

In the instant the vampire Rilia froze, Yang Bo sprang off the sofa and slammed his head into her face. The intense dizziness made him feel as though he would pass out the next second.

"Damn it..."

Vampires were physically stronger than humans. Even though Yang Bo had gone in intending to take her down with him, all he managed was to give her a nose like Voldemort's.

Bang! Yang Bo went flying. Excruciating pain shot through his abdomen as she kicked him away with ease.

He hit the floor with a thud, his entire body feeling as though it had fallen apart. Warmth spread across his forehead, too. He knew it was his blood.

The sound of Yang Bo hitting the floor and the screams from the dance floor were completely drowned out by the deafening music. The beautiful vampire... no, the Voldemort vampire Rilia now leaped over to him in a fury. Her blood-covered face struck Yang Bo as rather funny.

"You bastard! I'm going to drain every last drop of blood from your body!"

"Oho, just blood? I've got other fluids in me, you know!"

Even facing death, Yang Bo couldn't resist teasing her. It was instinct. As someone who listened to comedy routines every day, he couldn't let a setup go unanswered.

"You..."

She raised her foot and ruthlessly kicked him in the head. A buzzing filled his ears, his vision went completely black, and the pain that followed swallowed him whole.

"Food, you've really made me angry!"

Rilia bent down, grabbed Yang Bo, and hauled him off the floor, glaring at him.

"G-get on with it, then. While... I'm still warm!"

Knowing he was certain to die, Yang Bo's eyes had already gone vacant. The blood flowing from his forehead, along with the agonizing pain in his abdomen, was clouding his mind.

All he wanted now was to sleep.

A sensation of cold and warmth spread across his neck. He knew she had bitten him. Growing weaker and weaker, he forced himself to rally and open his eyes. He saw her long golden hair, her fair cheeks, and her cute, expressive ears.

Unable to help himself, he used the last of his strength to whisper into her ear, "T-to be honest, you really are... pretty!" Then, without the slightest hesitation, he bit down on her ear.

Most humans had a bite force of twenty-three to sixty-eight kilograms. Although Yang Bo was weak now, that final surge of adrenaline was enough for him to bite her ear off.

"Heh heh heh..." Yang Bo's mouth was full of blood, with a cute little ear still between his teeth.

"You want my fucking life, huh? Heh..."

A piercing scream rang out, and Yang Bo was thrown away. But he could no longer feel pain. Biting off her ear seemed to have been his final burst of vitality; now, he didn't even have the strength to open his eyes.

Lying facedown on the cold floor, he felt his surroundings grow colder and colder. A wave of drowsiness surged over him. He vaguely heard a bang, as though someone had kicked open a door, but none of that had anything to do with him anymore.

I just wanted to use the bathroom...

A few seconds later, Yang Bo's eyes snapped open. He gulped down several breaths of warm air. His surroundings felt familiar.

Then he turned his head and saw the mark he had left on the mottled wall.

"Isn't... isn't this where I first arrived after crossing over?"

"Did I come back to life?"

Neither the smell of blood nor that agonizing pain had felt remotely like a dream. Just then, an electronically synthesized voice suddenly sounded in his mind.

[Vampires and hunters module loading...] [Loaded successfully...] [Please select a class] [Vampire] [Vampire hunter]

"Has my cheat finally arrived?"

Without any hesitation, Yang Bo immediately prepared to select vampire hunter. He never wanted to experience being treated as food, helpless and at someone else's mercy, ever again.

Now that he had the ability to resurrect, he wanted nothing more than to charge straight back into the vampires' lair. He was no gentleman. Forget waiting ten years for revenge-if he had the means, he would gladly take revenge from morning till night.

"System! Are you there?"

No matter how he called out, there was no response. He silently said to himself:

I choose vampire hunter!

[Class change to vampire hunter successful] [To change classes, please collect the corresponding materials]

A warm sensation spread through his body. Something seemed to have changed, but he couldn't tell exactly what.

The warmth disappeared as quickly as it had appeared. Within a few seconds, everything returned to normal.

That's it? Talk about half-assed!

No matter how thoroughly he checked, he couldn't find any changes in himself. His physical abilities hadn't improved either, leaving him rather disappointed. The system wasn't even intelligent. It didn't offer so much as a beginner's tip; he would have to figure everything out himself.

First, let's find out where I actually am!

He left the alley and emerged onto the road, where vehicles sped past. At that moment, he was grateful he had crossed over into a modern society. If he had ended up in ancient times or another world, he really wouldn't have known how to survive.

So many foreigners! Wait... looks like I'm the foreigner here!

He shook his head, tossing that pointless thought aside, and wandered aimlessly down the road, trying to work out exactly where he was.

There were shops on both sides of the street, and he could clearly understand what their signs said. That puzzled him.

I could understand English yesterday, which means the system was already there. So why couldn't I choose a class until now? Could my system be one that makes me stronger every time I die?

He strolled down the road, his mind wandering.
